Clay Parents as Teachers

Welcome to our website!

Clay Parents as Teachers is a free and voluntary program offered to all families who are expecting or have a child or children through age five. The program  consists of five parent educators who have been certified by the National Center and meet ongoing competency-based training.

                                                                                              

These parent educators conduct home visits to provide information about stages of development, including general parenting guidance, tips on home safety, effective discipline and constructive play activities.

Monthly group meetings/ play groups, periodic monitoring and formal screening of overall development, language, hearing and vision are also offered to participating families.

Resource networks are provided to help families link with other local providers of special services beyond the scope of Parents as Teachers.

Health Department, W.I.C., Birth to Three, F.R.N., Clay County School Systems are a few of the local partners.
